The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Operations Commissioner, Prince Anofiu Olarenwaju Elegushi, led staff and officials of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board to a pathfinding tour of the Taraddudiyyah routes. The physical visitation to Muna, Arafat and Muzdalifa allowed officials to establish the positions of the Nigerian Pilgrims.

The Commissioner strongly warned Nigerian Pilgrims to safeguard their health under the intense heat of the sun and advised them against adopting the mentality of I must get to the Jabalur-Rahma which was not established to be compulsory in Islamic Jurisprudence.

Those on the entourage of the commissioner include representatives from Ogun, Plateau, Nasarawa, Yobe, Oyo and Zamfara states.

He therefore called on the media, the Ulama and the officials to intensify the enlightenment campaign with a view to encourage the entourage and the Pilgrims to abide by the Grouping arrangement, in order to avert disorderliness.

Earlier, the Makkah Coordinator who is also the Head of Tradudiya, Dr Aliyu Tanko, explained that the essence of the Tradudiya route is to avert the gridlock and ease the movement of Pilgrims from Muna, Arafat and Muzdalifa by the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Hajj.

He therefore enjoined the officials to play by the rule and to always caution their pilgrims from taking action that may disrupt the free flow of vehicular movements during the Masha’er.
