HAJJ 2024: APPRAISING GOV BAGO’S ENHANCED WELFARE PACKAGE FOR NIGER STATE PILGRIMS

The Governor of Niger State, Farmer Umaru Muhammad Bago has taken several deliberate steps to ensure the comfort and well-being of pilgrims in this year’s Hajj to Saudi Arabia 

The Governor has introduced transformative measures to enhance an outstanding pilgrimage experience for all pilgrims from Niger state. 

The Governor made this possible through the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, under the leadership of the Executive Secretary, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu. 

Firstly, the Governor, in his magnanimity to cushion the effects of the current financial turmoil faced by the intending Pilgrims having suffered from this year’s Hajj fare, graciously approved the payment of Hadayah (Animal sacrifice) to all intending pilgrims in the State.

Also, during his special visit to the pilgrims at Muna, Mecca, to assess their well-being and offer his support during the Hajj pilgrimage, the Governor gave special Salah package of SR 200 each to the individual pilgrims.

One of the standout initiatives implemented by the Governor in this year’s Pilgrimage; is the enhancement of pilgrims’ meal provisions from two square meals to three square meals a day, apart from different snacks, and fruits provided for pilgrims daily.

This critical improvement not only ensures that pilgrims are adequately nourished throughout their spiritual journey but also reflects the Governor’s commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of all pilgrims under his care.

Furthermore, to streamline and facilitate the movement of pilgrims within Makkah, the Governor has provided 7 no buses dedicated to shuttling pilgrims to the holy mosque. 

These strategic interventions not only ease logistical challenges but also underscore the Governor’s dedication to ensuring seamless and efficient transportation for pilgrims to carry out their daily activities smoothly.

The Executive Secretary, Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu,  has demonstrated the spirit of commitment through his unwavering support for pilgrims by making their overall pilgrimage experience worthwhile.

These initiatives not only reflect the Governor’s visionary leadership but also embody his deep respect and reverence for the religious significance of the pilgrimage.

In elevating the standards of care and support for pilgrims, the Governor of Niger State has set a new benchmark for pilgrimage welfare initiatives, reinforcing the state’s reputation as a beacon of compassion, hospitality, and excellence in fulfilling the spiritual aspirations of its citizens.
