The Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has officially commenced the airlift of its 2025 Hajj pilgrims, with the first batch of 555 pilgrims departing today for Madina via Max Air.

The flight took off from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, marking the start of Bauchi State’s Hajj operations for this year.

Speaking during the flag-off, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris, expressed satisfaction with the screening process and praised the cooperation and discipline of the pilgrims.

He acknowledged the support of the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, the Amirul Hajj team, and the Board’s staff, commending their dedication to a smooth operation.

Imam Idris hinted that the second flight is likely to depart tomorrow morning and confirmed that the state will complete the airlift in five batches.

The successful commencement comes as a boost amid nationwide concerns over delays in flight approvals for other states.
