The first group of Nigerian pilgrims participating in the 2025 Hajj has begun their journey from Madinah to Makkah after spending four spiritually fulfilling days in the Prophet’s City.
The contingent, comprising 1,874 pilgrims from Imo, Bauchi, Kebbi, Osun, and Kogi states, marks the first wave of Nigerian pilgrims to enter Makkah this year.
En route, the pilgrims will stop at the Miqat Dhul Hulaifa to don their ihram, symbolising their entry into a sacred state required for performing Hajj rituals.
Upon arrival in Makkah later today, they are expected to perform the Umrah rite as part of their pilgrimage.
Officials on the ground are ensuring a seamless transition and continued distribution of the mandatory NUSUK cards, which grant pilgrims access to key religious sites.
