The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced a significant reduction in the cost of Hajj for Pakistani pilgrims, setting a fixed airfare of $800 per person with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for the upcoming pilgrimage. This is a notable decrease compared to last year’s airfare of $850 per pilgrim.
A quota of 35,000 pilgrims has been allocated to PIA, ensuring more affordable travel for Pakistanis embarking on the sacred journey.
Prospective pilgrims can pay the total cost of Rs1.1 million in three installments. To apply, they must initially deposit Rs200,000. If selected through the lucky draw, they will pay an additional Rs400,000, with the remaining balance due before departure.
Meanwhile, the Government Hajj Scheme 2025 application process begins on Monday, November 18, and will remain open until December 3.
The lucky draw for the scheme is scheduled for December 6, with priority given to first-time applicants in the regular category, as stated by a ministry spokesperson.
