The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has confirmed that Max Air will be responsible for airlifting the state’s intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2025 Hajj.
This announcement was made by the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulkadri Abdulsalam, during a courtesy visit to Airport as part of preparations for the upcoming pilgrimage. He emphasised the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders and relevant government agencies to ensure a seamless and successful Hajj operation.
“The purpose of this visit is to familiarise our staff with the new management at the airport and to lay the groundwork for a smooth operation,” he explained, expressing optimism about the success of the 2025 Hajj exercise, building on the Board’s strong track record in previous years.
Also speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the Board, Professor Mahmoud Jimba, highlighted key operational concerns that need urgent attention. Among these is the prompt processing of airport permits to ensure proper identification of staff and personnel involved in the Hajj exercise.
He also stressed the need for provisions such as reflective jackets and a dedicated vehicle for transporting pilgrims, calling for stronger collaboration between the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Pilgrims Board.
The visit is one of several proactive steps by the Kwara Pilgrims Welfare Board to ensure that intending pilgrims from the state experience a smooth and spiritually fulfilling Hajj in 2025.
