Amal by Malaysia Airlines has officially launched the first phase of its 2025 Hajj operations, marking the start of its mission to transport thousands of pilgrims for this sacred journey. The first flight, MH8050, took off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 at 4.05 am on Apr 29, 2025.
The send-off ceremony was attended by Datuk Setia Dr Mohd Na’im bin Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain, Chairman of Lembaga Tabung Haji, and Mohd Hisham Harun, Head of the Hajj Department at Lembaga Tabung Haji, as well as senior officials from Amal by Malaysia Airlines, including Muhammad Najmi Mansor, Chief Operating Officer.
The 2025 Hajj season will involve 110 flights across two phases, with 15,620 pilgrims expected to travel. Phase 1 will consist of 55 flights to transport pilgrims to Madinah and Jeddah, while Phase 2, starting June 14, 2025, and concluding by July 10, 2025, will bring pilgrims back to Malaysia.
Amal will also operate additional feeder flights from cities such as Alor Star, Penang, Kota Bahru, Johor Bahru, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuala Terengganu to Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
