The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (KSPWA) has commenced its Public Enlightenment Programme, popularly known as BITA, as part of preparations for the 2026 Hajj operations.
The programme was officially flagged off on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Kinkinau Qur’anic Recitation Centre in Kaduna.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of the Agency, Salihu S. Abubakar, represented by the Administrative Secretary, Baba Rufa’i, described BITA as a critical component of the state’s Hajj preparations. He said the initiative is designed to educate and adequately prepare intending pilgrims spiritually, physically, and administratively for the pilgrimage.
Abubakar assured that the welfare of Kaduna pilgrims remains a top priority, adding that the agency is committed to ensuring a safe, comfortable, and spiritually rewarding #Hajj experience. He explained that the enlightenment sessions would cover Hajj rites, health and safety measures, Saudi laws and regulations, as well as discipline, patience, and cooperation among pilgrims.
He noted that proper enlightenment would help eliminate confusion, reduce errors, and ensure compliance with established guidelines during the pilgrimage.
The agency also highlighted the ongoing reconstruction of the Kaduna State Hajj Transit Camp at Mando, which it said would be completed ahead of the 2026 Hajj. According to the chairman, the upgraded facility will meet modern standards, with improved accommodation, sanitation, medical, and welfare services.
Abubakar expressed appreciation to Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, for his continued support and commitment to pilgrims’ welfare, particularly his approval of the transit camp reconstruction.
He urged intending pilgrims to participate fully in the BITA sessions and adhere strictly to the guidelines provided, while commending Islamic scholars, facilitators, media partners, and other stakeholders for their support toward a hitch-free 2026 Hajj.
