Kaduna State is setting a new national benchmark for Islamic pilgrimage logistics through the comprehensive remodelling of the Hajj Transit Camp in Mando. Led by the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency and its Chairman, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, the project signals a strategic shift toward world-class service delivery for the state’s Muslim faithful.
The renovation of the Mando camp is designed to prioritize the comfort and dignity of pilgrims during the critical window before their departure to Saudi Arabia. Backed by the administration of Governor Uba Sani, the initiative transforms the transit experience from a basic stopover into a high-standard preparation hub.
Key upgrades to the facility include:
Enhanced Accommodation: Fully modernized living quarters designed to ensure superior hygiene and restful environments.
Operational Efficiency: Reconfigured processing areas intended to streamline documentation and significantly reduce wait times.
Spiritual Readiness: Dedicated, high-capacity spaces for orientation and sensitization programs to prepare pilgrims for the rites of Hajj.
The Agency is prioritising administrative excellence, with comprehensive sensitization programs already in motion to ensure that pilgrims are well-versed in both the spiritual obligations and logistical requirements of the journey.
This proactive timeline is a deliberate effort to make the 2026 Hajj operation the most seamless in the state’s history. By initiating preparations nearly a year in advance, the Agency aims to mitigate traditional logistical bottlenecks and provide a stress-free environment for all participants.
Governor Uba Sani has reaffirmed that his administration views the Hajj not merely as a logistical exercise, but as a vital spiritual milestone for the citizens of Kaduna.
“Our goal is to ensure a dignified pilgrimage that reflects the values and hospitality of Kaduna State,” the Governor stated.
The Pilgrims Welfare Agency noted that the Governor’s consistent financial and moral backing has been the primary catalyst for these improvements, positioning Kaduna as a leader in state-led Hajj operations in Nigeria.
As the remodelling nears completion, Kaduna State remains steadfast in its “pilgrim-first” philosophy. The Mando Transit Camp now stands as a physical testament to this dedication, promising a future where the Hajj experience is as comfortable as it is spiritually fulfilling.
