The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has urged all intending pilgrims in the state to adequately prepare for the forthcoming medical screening exercise ahead of the 2026 Hajj.
The Director General of the board, Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, gave the directive during a supervisory visit to the Hajj Training Centre in Doguwa Local Government Area, where he underscored the importance of Hajj training, describing it as the backbone of successful Hajj operations. He noted that the training equips pilgrims with proper knowledge of the rites and acts of worship to be performed during the pilgrimage.
Represented by the Director of Propagation, Education and Enlightenment, Murtala Lawan Sani, Danbappa said the visit was aimed at monitoring training activities in Doguwa and ensuring strict adherence to established guidelines. He warned that any intending pilgrim who fails to undergo the mandatory medical screening would not be issued a visa.
Also speaking, the Deputy Director in the Operations Department, Faruk Musa Sani, said the 2026 Hajj would differ from previous exercises, as visas and medical certificates would be digitally linked to the Nusuk platform. He therefore urged pilgrims who were yet to submit their international passports to do so promptly to avoid disqualification.
Hajj training centres in Doguwa and Tudun Wada local government areas were visited during the supervisory exercise.
