Kebbi State has emerged as the Best Performing State in Hajj Operations for the 2026 Hajj exercise, receiving the prestigious Golden Award in recognition of its outstanding management of the pilgrimage.
The award recognises the state’s performance in pilgrims’ welfare, transportation, accommodation, healthcare, logistics and overall service delivery during the Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement issued by the Kebbi State Pilgrims New Media Team on Wednesday, the state successfully returned all 4,256 pilgrims home safely without recording any death during the exercise.
The statement attributed the achievement to the support of Governor Nasir Idris, whose commitment to pilgrims’ welfare created an enabling environment for the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency to deliver a successful Hajj operation.
Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Dr. Faruku Aliyu Yaro, dedicated the award to the governor, the state government, members of the Hajj delegation, agency staff, security personnel, medical teams, volunteers, media partners and other stakeholders for their contributions to the success of the 2026 Hajj.
Yaro said the recognition would further motivate the agency to sustain high standards in Hajj administration and continue providing quality services to pilgrims in future operations.
