The Executive Secretary, Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir says two thousand, one hundred and fifty intending pilgrims from the state were fully paid for this year’s Hajj exercise.
Alhaji Abdulkadir, who disclosed this today at the enlightenment programme and a special prayer for all its intending pilgrims for this year’s Hajj, held at the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board’s premises, Ilorin, saying that less than thirty people were waiting to complete their payments before Tuesday.
The Executive Secretary said the Hajj is not a tourism affair, it is an exercise that requires good intention to prepare for the exercise and charged the intending pilgrims from the state to be good ambassadors of the state and country at large.
In his remarks, the Amirul-Hajj for this year, the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Ismail Yahaya Alebiosu appealed to intending pilgrims from the state to be patient when they are in Saudi Arabia and dissociate themselves from social media to make the exercises accepted by Allah.
Oba Yahaya Alebiosu commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq for making necessary facilities to ensure a hitch-free Hajj exercise.
Also speaking, the Chairman, State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Professor Mashood Mahmud-Jimba appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq for putting in place the necessary machinery to ensure hitch hitch-free exercise
Professor Mahmud-Jimba then appealed to this year’s intending pilgrims from the state to follow the rules of the Board to have a successful Hajj exercise.
In his lecture, the Grand Khadi, Kwara State Shariah Court of Appeal, Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen, represented by Imam Kamaldeen Shefiulahi charge this year’s intending pilgrims to have the fear of Allah before, during and after the exercise.
Leading the other Muslim scholars at the Special prayer, the Imam Imale of Ilorin, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulhamid prayed for the successful Hajj exercise, adding Hajj exercise is not by power but by will of Allah.
