The Yobe State Pilgrims Welfare Commission has officially commenced the distribution of uniform materials and travel bags to intending pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj. The exercise began on Sunday at the Commission’s premises in Damaturu and covers pilgrims from all 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
Speaking during the flag-off, the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Mai Aliyu Usman, emphasized the significance of the uniforms in fostering unity and identity among Yobe pilgrims in the Holy Land. “The uniform serves as a unique identity for Yobe State pilgrims. It is peculiar to us, and every pilgrim must wear it throughout their stay in the Holy Land,” he stated.
He further commended the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni, CON, for its unwavering support in facilitating a smooth and well-organized pilgrimage. He noted that the state government has already provided all essential items, including hand luggage, uniforms for both men and women, and identification badges, to ease the journey for the pilgrims.
Alhaji Mai Aliyu, who personally supervised the distribution process, assured that all materials would be equitably and judiciously distributed. He pledged to maintain the highest standards of service and logistics as the Commission prepares for the spiritual journey.
“As part of our broader strategy to enhance the Hajj experience, we are addressing logistical challenges that have affected previous operations,” he noted, adding that the Commission remains committed to ensuring a safe, fulfilling, and spiritually enriching pilgrimage for all participants.
The Chairman also advised intending pilgrims to conduct themselves with dignity and serve as worthy ambassadors of Yobe State and Nigeria while in Saudi Arabia.
The Commission’s Information Officer, Suleiman Alhaji Sabo, affirmed the smooth running of the exercise and reiterated the Commission’s determination to make this year’s pilgrimage one of the most successful in the state’s history.
