The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a reviewed 2026 Hajj fare and introduced a new allocation policy that prioritizes states based on early remittance of payments.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Fatima Sanda Usara, the commission revealed that the new fares were approved after consultations with key stakeholders. The revised rates are now ₦7,579,020.96 for Maiduguri/Yola Zone, ₦7,696,769.76 for the Northern Zone, and ₦7,991,141.76 for the Southern Zone.
The updated fares, computed at an exchange rate of ₦1,443 per US dollar, reflect reductions of ₦539,013, ₦548,043.91, and ₦569,871.91, respectively.
NAHCON set December 4, 2025, as the final deadline for pilgrims to complete payments to enable fund transfers into the commission’s IBAN account ahead of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s December 21 deadline.
The commission also announced the cancellation of previous slot allocations to states, stating that only those that remit payments early will secure Hajj slots on a first-come, first-served basis.
Chairman of the Forum of States, Alhaji Idris Almakura, urged all state officials currently in Saudi Arabia to conclude their engagements swiftly and return home to mobilize intending pilgrims, stressing the urgency of filling Nigeria’s quota within the new timeframe.
