NAHCON Chairman Reaffirms Commitment to Pilgrims’ Welfare, lauds staff for dedication

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has reiterated its commitment to the welfare and comfort of Nigerian pilgrims, assuring that every responsibility under its mandate would be diligently executed.

 

Chairman of the Commission, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman , gave the assurance on Monday, June 2, during the pre-Arafah stakeholders meeting held in Makkah.

 

Addressing stakeholders, Professor Pakistan said the Commission’s board, management, and staff fully understand the weight of their duty to pilgrims who annually invest significant resources to fulfill a key pillar of Islam.

 

“The cardinal responsibility of the Commission is to ensure efficient and satisfactory service delivery to Nigerian pilgrims—from Nigeria to the holy land and back home,” he said.

 

He commended the dedication of staff and stakeholders who have, in his words, “sacrificed all comforts” to ensure a seamless Hajj operation so far, expressing hope that the gains made would be sustained until the end of the exercise.

 

The Commissioner of Operations, Prince Anofiu Elegushi, in his welcome remarks, emphasized that Hajj operations demand unity, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to dignify the experience of pilgrims.

 

He praised the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bn Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince Muhammad Bn Salman, and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for their relentless efforts in ensuring a smooth and secure pilgrimage for Muslims around the world.

 

The meeting brought together key players in Hajj operations to review progress and coordinate strategies ahead of the pivotal Arafah rites.
