The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has signed the 2026 Hajj service agreement with Rawaf Mina Company, formalising arrangements for licensed tour operators ahead of next year’s pilgrimage. The signing ceremony took place yesterday in Ummul Judd, Makkah, and was led by NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, and the CEO of Rawaf Mina, Zuhair Abdel Hamid Sadayo.
Speaking at the event, Usman reminded the company of the high expectations of Nigerian pilgrims, stressing that value for money must be guaranteed. He said Rawaf Mina had been engaged since last year and that all previous challenges had been documented for correction. “Rawaf Mina is now our partner in progress. Working together last year, we have identified areas requiring improvement, and we are hopeful that you will perform better than last year and exceed expectations,” he said.
Commissioner of Operations, Prince Anofiu Olarenwaju Elegushi, reaffirmed NAHCON’s regulatory mandate, noting that while tour operators are the lead partners with Rawaf Mina, the commission will ensure pilgrims receive the services they pay for.
Responding, Sadayo assured NAHCON of improved performance during the 2026 Hajj. He thanked Nigerian tour operators for their trust and announced that a technical team would address all outstanding concerns. “We will make Nigerian pilgrims smile,” he pledged.
National President of the Association for Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (AHUON), Abdullateef Yusuf Ekundayo, thanked NAHCON for its support and affirmed operators’ readiness to work closely with the commission and Rawaf Mina for a successful Hajj.
The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Hajj and Umrah Tour Operators Association of Nigeria (HUTON), Mohammed Auwal, and representatives of other companies involved in the 2026 operations. The agreement marks a major step in strengthening service delivery for Nigerian pilgrims in the coming Hajj season.
