The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) will on Monday hold separate meetings with chairmen of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards and leaders of Private Hajj and Umrah Operators as part of preparations for the 2026 Hajj.

The meetings will be presided over by the NAHCON chairman, Ismail Abba Yusuf, and are expected to address outstanding issues relating to the 2026 pilgrimage.

Hajj Reporters gathered that Yusuf, who was confirmed by the Senate on Friday, convened the meetings to engage key stakeholders and familiarise himself with state boards and licensed operators.

While the session with Private Hajj and Umrah Operators will be held virtually via Zoom, the meeting with State Pilgrims Welfare Boards will take place at the Hajj House in Abuja.

Meanwhile, the chairman on Wednesday held an interactive session with staff of the commission to receive briefings on ongoing activities and the current state of preparations for the 2026 Hajj.

The engagement formed part of efforts to acquaint himself with the commission’s operations ahead of major decisions on the Hajj process.
