The Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the commencement of the process to refund excess deposits made by intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Mallam Idris Ahmed Almakura, made this known today during a management meeting held at the Board’s headquarters in Lafia. He has consequently directed all Hajj Coordinators across the state to immediately compile and submit the bank account details of pilgrims who paid above the official 2026 Hajj fare.
Mallam Almakura stated that the Board has completed all necessary arrangements to ensure the swift and seamless refund of the excess deposits to the affected pilgrims. He emphasized the Board’s commitment to transparency and accountability in all its financial dealings concerning the welfare of intending pilgrims.
In a related development, the Executive Secretary reiterated that the Board has officially closed the deposit window for the 2026 Hajj fare. He therefore urged all intending pilgrims who have secured their slots but have yet to submit their International Passports for documentation and processing to do so urgently.
“All intending pilgrims must submit their valid International Passports to the Board or through their designated coordinators on or before Tuesday, the 24th of December, 2024,” Mallam Almakura declared.
He stressed that this deadline is critical for the timely processing of travel documents and other essential pre-Hajj formalities, and will not be extended.
The Board assures the public of its continued dedication to facilitating a smooth and successful pilgrimage for all citizens of Nasarawa State.
