The Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has strengthened its collaboration with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to ensure a smooth and secure 2026 Hajj exercise.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Mallam Idris Almakura, led a high-level delegation on a courtesy visit to the NSCDC State Command in Lafia, where he sought enhanced security support for the forthcoming pilgrimage.

“We are here to strengthen our long-standing relationship with the NSCDC and to seek your continued support as we prepare for the 2026 Hajj,” Almakura said. “There is a need for robust security from the point of registration, through camp activities, and up to the departure of our pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.”

He commended the Corps for its consistent support in previous exercises, noting that, “The NSCDC has always been a reliable partner, providing security coverage, escort services and surveillance at the Hajj camp to ensure order and safety for our pilgrims.”

In his response, the Nasarawa State Commandant of the NSCDC, Commandant Samson Umoru, assured the Board of the Corps’ full commitment to the success of the 2026 Hajj.

“The safety and welfare of pilgrims remain our top priority,” Umoru said. “We are ready to deploy the necessary personnel for crowd control, surveillance and escort duties to ensure a hitch-free Hajj operation.”

He added that the NSCDC would continue to work closely with the Pilgrims Welfare Board to sustain peace, order and security throughout the Hajj process.
