The Niger State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board says it is working round the clock to upload medical fitness certificates of all duly registered 2026 intending pilgrims ahead of the March 2 deadline set by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
In a statement made available to the press by the Public Relations Officer of the board, Jibrin Usman Kodo, officials of the board, in collaboration with a team of medical doctors, are racing to complete the process, which is a critical requirement for the commencement of visa processing for cleared pilgrims.
Saudi authorities have made medical documentation a mandatory prerequisite for visa issuance for the 2026 Hajj.
The Executive Secretary of the board, Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, said the board had fully mobilised its Information and Communications Technology personnel, administrative staff and medical team to ensure all properly processed certificates are uploaded within the stipulated timeframe.
“Our officers and medical personnel have been on duty day and night to meet NAHCON’s March 2 deadline,” he said. “We will not relent until every duly registered pilgrim from Niger State has his or her medical certificate uploaded and cleared for visa processing.”
The board reiterated its commitment to strict compliance with NAHCON guidelines and expressed confidence that the state would meet the deadline.
It warned that any intending pilgrim who fails to fulfil the medical documentation requirement risks forfeiting participation in the 2026 Hajj, as visa processing will not begin without confirmed medical fitness clearance.
