Osun State Begins 2025 Hajj Airlift for 1,221 Pilgrims on May 9

The Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has concluded preparations to commence the airlift of 1,221 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage, starting Friday, May 9.

In an official statement released on Wednesday, the Board’s Executive Secretary, Mr. Muritala Fakunle, confirmed that all necessary logistics and arrangements have been finalized. He assured that pilgrims will enjoy comfortable accommodations in Makkah and a smooth travel experience.

“The Board is fully prepared to deliver excellent services throughout this spiritual journey,” Fakunle stated.

The inaugural flight will depart from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, with 694 male and 527 female pilgrims scheduled to travel. Subsequent flights will continue daily until all pilgrims are airlifted.

The operation is being coordinated in collaboration with airline operators, Saudi authorities, and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), with the May 9 kickoff aligning with the officially approved schedule.
