Saudi Arabia has introduced new updates to its e-Visa policy for 2026, affecting travellers from more than 85 countries, in a move aimed at strengthening border management and supporting its growing tourism and pilgrimage sector.
Although the online visa system remains in operation, some applicants may now experience longer processing times, increased documentation requirements, higher visa fees, and restrictions on multiple-entry visas.
Officials explained that the changes are designed to better manage the rising influx of visitors, enhance security measures, and align with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 tourism objectives. The update also comes as Saudi Arabia prepares to host major international events and accommodate a growing number of pilgrims.
The policy adjustments are being implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
Travelers have been advised to apply early and verify the latest visa requirements before making travel plans to avoid possible delays or complications.
