Vice President Kashim Shettima has intervened on the issue of booking and availability of Tent A services or VIP pilgrims between NAHCON and Private Tour Operators by directing NAHCON’s Secretary to resolve the issue for a smooth hajj exercise.
The VP position was disclosed on Tuesday after the NAHCON board briefed the Vice President at the Presidential Villa on preparations for the 2025 Hajj operations.
In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications Office of the Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima said, “Regarding the issues raised by tour operators on VIP Tent A, the Secretary of the Commission, Dr. Mustafa Aaji, has been given the mandate to lead and resolve the issue”.
Speaking earlier, the Vice President charged the commission to ensure that all hands are on deck to ensure the success of the hajj exercise.
“All necessary measures must be taken to guarantee the success of the 2025 Hajj. We owe it to all Nigerians and our pilgrims to ensure a smooth and spiritually fulfilling experience,” he said.
HAJJ REPORTERS reports that “With less than three weeks to the commencement of the 2025 Hajj airlift, uncertainty surrounds the availability of Tent A accommodation in Mina for Nigerian VIP pilgrims.
The issue has sparked concern among Hajj stakeholders, particularly private tour operators, prompting the Association of Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (AHUON) to officially request urgent clarification from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
