Sokoto Registers 2,235 Intending Pilgrims for 2026 Hajj

The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has announced the registration of 2,235 intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

The agency also assured that preparations were in top gear to ensure a smooth, well-coordinated and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage for all participants.

Speaking to journalists at the agency’s secretariat in Sokoto, its Executive Chairman, Alhaji Ali Musa, affirmed that the major arrangements have been concluded ahead of the annual holy journey.

According to Musa, such arrangement include travel logistics, accommodation and feeding agreements with relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to him, the registration figure includes both private applicants and designated government officials expected to participate in next year’s pilgrimage.

Musa stressed that the agency was working tirelessly to avoid lapses and ensure that every registered pilgrim receives full support from documentation to arrival in the Holy Land, declaring that no intending pilgrim from Sokoto will be left behind.

He further commended the Sokoto State Government for its consistent generosity and unwavering support toward pilgrims.

The chairman noted that the state government has remained committed to improving the welfare of citizens embarking on religious obligations, both at home and in Saudi Arabia.

He assured that with early preparations, transparent processes, and strengthened collaboration with Saudi partners, Sokoto State pilgrims will enjoy improved accommodation, timely feeding arrangements and enhanced welfare throughout their stay.

He emphasised that the 2026 Hajj exercise will reflect efficiency, dignity and the true spirit of service, as the agency is determined to deliver one of the most organised outings the state ever recorded
