Hajj Terms and Meaning
It is the second day of the days of Tashreeq. It was narrated on the authority of Sarraa’ bint Nabhaan Al-Ghanawiyyah that the Prophet (saw)said in the Farewell Hajj: “Do you know which day it is today? It is the day that people call the day of Ar-Ru’oos?” People replied that Allah The Almighty and His Messenger know best. The Prophet said: “This is the middle day of the days of At-Tashreeq.” [Dha‘eef] It was called the day of Ar-Ru’oos because people eat heads of the sacrificial animals in it.
