The Executive Chairman of Yobe State Pilgrims Commission. Alh Mai Aliyu Usman has announced that an initial deposit of N7.5 million has been set as initial deposit for the 2027 Hajj exercise. He announced this to the public during a press conference today at the commission’s headquarters in Damaturu.
Mai Aliyu emphasized that only three months remained for the closure of continuing registration of intending pilgrims, in accordance with directives from the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which have set a September 2026 registration deadline for intending pilgrims worldwide.
He stressed that, all intending pilgrims this year 2027 hajj must follow the traditional, saying payment made through raw Cash notes Deposit will not be entertained under any circumstances, payments should only be processed through the following authorised channels, the designated desk officers at the commission Headquaters, authorised Hajj local Government fare collectors.
He warned members of the public against giving money to individuals who are not staff of the commission with the promise of facilitating their pilgrimage.
It’s pertinent at this juncture to stressed that, anyone found engaging in such illegal activities would face appropriate legal sanctions.
He also noted that the final Hajj fare for 2027 may differ from that of 2026, adding that intending pilgrims should await the official fare to be announced by the Saudi authorities later this year.
The Executive Chairman also advised intending pilgrims with international passports that were about to expire to renew them as soon as possible to avoid delays or difficulties in obtaining visas.
The chairman has urged zonal officers to be vigilant, to ensure that all hajj seats are filled, and to actively raise awareness among the public about the importance of completing registration before the deadline.
Furthermore, Mai Aliyu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Governor of Yobe State, HON Mai Mala Buni (CON), for the Commission’s continuous maximum cooperation and support during each Hajj operation.
