A local vendor, Lawan Muhd Kiru, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude after receiving a free Hajj seat—an opportunity made possible through the power of human connection and his longstanding relationship with His Excellency, Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Lawan Muhd Kiru shared his story with our media team in the holy city of Makkah, explaining how a past encounter with Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, when the latter was buying a newspaper in Abuja, led to a life-changing opportunity.
Despite not seeing the Governor for nearly thirty years, that brief moment left a lasting impression. His story later reached the Governor through a newspaper buyer, prompting Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to personally offer Lawan Kiru a fully sponsored Hajj seat.
“This is a dream come true for me,” said Lawan Muhd Kiru. “I am deeply grateful to His Excellency for this life-changing opportunity.
This gesture highlights Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s commitment to the welfare and spiritual development of the people of Kano State, as well as the power of empathy and leadership that stays connected to the people.
The Hajj pilgrimage, a once-in-a-lifetime spiritual journey for many Muslims, holds profound religious significance. For Lawan Kiru, this opportunity is a testament to compassion, community, and the remarkable impact of meaningful human relationships.
