Press Release
The Nasarawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, under the leadership of its Executive Secretary, Mallam Idris Almakura, has commenced the 2026 Hajj Enlightenment Exercise across the state.
According to the Executive Secretary, the enlightenment exercise is designed to hold simultaneously across all the 13 Local Government Areas and Development Areas of Nasarawa State. The programme aims to educate intending pilgrims on the necessary procedures, guidelines, and spiritual obligations required for the successful performance of the Hajj pilgrimage.
Mallam Idris Almakura explained that the exercise forms part of the Board’s early preparation strategy for the 2026 Hajj, ensuring that all intending pilgrims are adequately informed, spiritually guided, and physically prepared ahead of the journey to the Holy Land.
He further reiterated the Board’s commitment to maintaining transparency, discipline, and efficiency in all its operations, while also urging intending pilgrims to take full advantage of the enlightenment programme to gain a better understanding of Hajj rites, travel arrangements, and other essential requirements.
The Executive Secretary appreciated the Nasarawa State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, for its continuous support to the Board and for creating an enabling environment that facilitates the smooth conduct of Hajj activities in the state.
The enlightenment exercise is expected to run over the coming weeks, with resource persons and scholars deployed across all local government areas to interact with intending pilgrims and address their concerns.
