The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has outlined the costs and key deadlines for the 2026 Hajj, urging intending pilgrims to complete their payments on or before December 1, 2025.
Speaking during a live programme on SOBI FM 101.9 on Sunday, the Executive Secretary of the board, Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, said the 2026 Hajj fare for pilgrims from Kwara State has been fixed at ₦7,696,769.76. He explained that the variation in Hajj fares across Nigeria is due to differences in flight distance to Saudi Arabia, which affects fuel consumption and aviation costs.
Abdulsalam expressed gratitude to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Zulu Gambari, board chairman Mashood Jimba and the staff of the board for their support in preparing for the exercise.
He stressed that the December 1 deadline is firm, noting that the board must remit payments to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria early enough to meet Saudi Arabia’s requirements. He warned that delays may affect visa processing, which begins in February 2026, and could deny late payers the chance to participate in the pilgrimage.
Abdulsalam also highlighted new safety upgrades for the 2026 Hajj, including improved aircraft monitoring systems that relay engine health, hydraulics and avionics status to airport control rooms, as well as air-to-ground transmission tools to enhance flight safety and reduce mechanical risks.
The board urged intending pilgrims to comply with all guidelines to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj exercise.
