Kano selects 60 teachers for 2026 Hajj induction classes

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has selected 60 teachers to conduct weekly Hajj induction courses for intending pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.

The selection was announced during a meeting with the instructors at the board’s headquarters in Kano. The Director General, Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, said the teachers will be deployed to 10 designated induction centres across the state to ensure effective and comprehensive preparation of pilgrims.

The centres include the School for Arabic Studies, Ungogo Local Government Area, Gwarzo, Bichi, Rimin-Gado, Wudil, Gezawa, Kura, Rano and Tudun Wada local government areas.

Represented at the meeting by the Head of Bita and board member, Tijjani Sani Maihula, Danbappa urged the teachers to demonstrate dedication, discipline and professionalism in carrying out their responsibilities, noting that proper induction remains key to a successful and hitch-free Hajj exercise.

Also speaking, the Director of Propagation, Education and Enlightenment, Murtala Lawan Sani, charged the instructors to uphold the board’s standards and guide intending pilgrims in line with Islamic teachings and approved regulations.

He reaffirmed the board’s commitment to early preparation and capacity building as part of efforts to enhance the welfare and performance of Kano State pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj.
