The Director of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Kadir Edah, has attributed the success recorded during the 2025 Hajj operations to the timely support and guidance of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr Nyesom Wike.

Speaking on the exercise, Edah said most of the requests made by the Board received prompt approval through the Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, which ensured smooth preparations and execution of the pilgrimage.

According to him, from the commencement of pilgrims’ registration to the airlift phase, the Minister of State consistently directed the Board to adhere strictly to the directives of the FCT Minister and to deploy all necessary resources to deliver quality services to pilgrims.

“Her constant supervision and encouragement motivated us greatly last year, and the same level of commitment is being sustained this year,” he said.

Edah also disclosed that he would soon travel to Saudi Arabia alongside other state pilgrims board secretaries to finalise accommodation arrangements and other critical logistics ahead of the Hajj.

“We are going to Saudi Arabia to conclude accommodation arrangements, and we assure intending pilgrims from the FCT that they will enjoy one of the best facilities this year, courtesy of the support from the FCT Minister,” he added.

He further revealed that the Board would soon commence its enlightenment programme to educate pilgrims on new policies introduced by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ahead of the 2025 Hajj.
