The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has organised a one-day induction programme for its staff, zonal officers and 27 newly appointed centre officers as part of preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The induction, held under the leadership of the board’s director general, Ahmad Umar Labbo, was aimed at equipping officers from the 27 local government areas with the knowledge and skills required for effective management of Jigawa pilgrims during the Hajj.
Key areas covered at the programme included centre operational guidelines, pilgrim management procedures from the Hajj camp to the airport, as well as logistics relating to Makkah, Jeddah, Mina and Arafat. Participants were also reminded of the importance of patience and maintaining an open-door policy in the discharge of their duties.
During the event, appointment letters were presented to the newly appointed centre officers. The director general commended the support of the Jigawa State governor, Umar Namadi, noting that his commitment made the induction programme possible.
The board said the initiative was part of efforts to ensure a smooth and satisfactory Hajj experience for Jigawa pilgrims in 2026.
