The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has launched a comprehensive state-level Hajj training programme for intending pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The initiative, which covers all 27 local government areas of the state, is aimed at providing adequate enlightenment and preparation for pilgrims ahead of the spiritual journey. The training was inaugurated under the leadership of the Director General of the Board, Ahmad Umar Labbo.
Prominent Islamic clerics from the Jigawa State Council of Ulama, alongside designated Hajj preachers representing the 27 local governments, participated in the programme. The preachers are expected to cascade the training to intending pilgrims at the grassroots level within their respective local government areas.
Speaking at the event, Labbo acknowledged the support of Governor Umar Namadi, noting that the backing of the state government has made it possible to sustain structured preparations for the 2026 Hajj.
The Board said the training forms a key part of efforts to ensure that Jigawa pilgrims are well-guided on Hajj rites and conduct, and adequately prepared for the exercise.
