Pakistan International Airlines has completed preparations for its large-scale pre-Hajj flight operation, aiming to transport thousands of Pakistani pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the annual pilgrimage. The airline plans to begin the operation on April 18, marking the start of a major logistical effort that will continue until May 21.

During this first phase, flights will operate primarily to the holy cities of Madinah and Jeddah, which serve as main entry points for pilgrims arriving in the Kingdom. In total, the airline has scheduled 202 flights to transport more than 60,000 pilgrims from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia during the pre-Hajj period.

Officials said that around 49,000 pilgrims will travel under the government Hajj scheme, while approximately 11,000 individuals will perform the pilgrimage through private arrangements. The flights will depart from several major cities, including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, Quetta, Faisalabad and Multan.

Furthermore, the airline will deploy a combination of wide-body and narrow-body aircraft to manage the large passenger flow. The fleet for the operation will include the long-range Boeing 777 as well as the smaller Airbus A320, ensuring efficient transportation throughout the pilgrimage season.

Meanwhile, authorities have also finalized plans for the post-Hajj return phase, which is scheduled to begin on May 30 and continue until June 30. During this period, the airline will gradually bring pilgrims back to Pakistan after completing the religious rituals in Saudi Arabia.

Officials say the carefully planned operation aims to ensure smooth travel, improved coordination and timely services for thousands of pilgrims traveling from across Pakistan. The airline hopes the extensive arrangements will help deliver a comfortable journey for worshippers performing Hajj this year.
