A total of 38,888 Nigerian pilgrims were transported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the first phase of the 2026 Hajj airlift, according to an analysis by the IHR Media Monitoring Team.
The analysis showed that four designated carriers operated 98 flights to convey the pilgrims for the annual pilgrimage.
Max Air transported the highest number of pilgrims, airlifting 14,701 pilgrims in 31 flights. Flynas followed with 11,005 pilgrims transported through 30 flight operations.
Umza Aviation conveyed 6,917 pilgrims in 16 flights, while Air Peace transported 6,265 pilgrims in 21 flights.
In total, the four airlines successfully transported 38,888 pilgrims through 98 flight operations, marking a significant milestone in the first phase of the Hajj airlift exercise.
The figures were compiled as part of an assessment of the airlift operations by the IHR Assessment Team.
