Fct Commences The Return Airlift Of Its Pilgrims To Nigeria
The Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the return airlift of its pilgrims to Nigeria, today, with an inaugural flight that carried 316 pilgrims on board to the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
The inaugural flight, Air Peace Flight, APO 7929, departed Jeddah International Airport, KSA, around 15: 55 hrs (1: 55 PM, Nigerian time), carrying the 316 FCT pilgrims on direct flight to Abuja.
FCT Pilgrims have additional flights on 10th, 11th, 12th 13th and 15th of this month, which, invariably, signaled the end of the 2026 Hajj exercise
The Director of the Board, Malam Kadiri Edah, during a post Arafat meeting with the pilgrims at the various FCT pilgrims’ Houses in Makkah, informed them that the Board maintains the NAHCON’s luggage policy, which stipulates that each pilgrim would have two sets of 23 KG checked in bags, in addition to the 8 KG hand luggage. This, however, gave pilgrims an extra 14 KG value, as opposed to the old luggage policy of 40 KG only (32 KG bag, plus 8 KG hand luggage).
Malam Kadiri, then warned the pilgrims to avoid carrying excess luggage and or the prohibited items and substances, such as liquids, gases, Sharp objects, etc.
Director Kadiri, further reaffirmed the Board’s commitments to the total welfare of the pilgrims in order to perform the Hajj effectively and efficiently and wished them journey mercies and happy returns to their families.
It can be recalled that over 1540 FCT pilgrims performed the Hajj exercise this year.
