The Executive Director of the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Yunusa Abdullahi Dankama, has announced that the airlift of intending pilgrims from the state to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 2025 Hajj will commence on May 19, 2025.
He made the disclosure during the official launch of the distribution of hand luggage and uniforms to intending pilgrims, marking the simultaneous rollout of the exercise across all zonal offices in the state.
Alhaji Dankama noted that over 2,040 pilgrims from Katsina State are expected to perform the Hajj this year. He emphasized that the board has made all necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful pilgrimage, including the securing of accommodation, feeding, and transportation for the pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking at the distribution ceremony, the representative of the Board Chairman, Alhaji Usman Umar, expressed satisfaction with the quality of materials provided, adding that the board is committed to the welfare and comfort of all pilgrims.
Also addressing the gathering, Board Member Alhaji Abdullahi encouraged pilgrims to wear their official uniforms throughout their stay in the holy land for easy identification and coordination.
In a related development, the Executive Director continued his oversight with visits to ongoing pilgrims’ orientation training exercises at the Dutsinma, Kankia, and Mani zonal offices. He praised the turnout and urged participants to remain focused.
Alhaji Dankama reiterated the importance of adhering to Hajj regulations and maintaining discipline throughout the pilgrimage.
“We urge all our intending pilgrims to act as good ambassadors of Katsina State and Nigeria while in the Holy Land,” he said.
“Attend the free Hajj training programs seriously; they are vital to attaining Hajj Mabrur,” he added.
With preparations reaching their final phase, Katsina State appears well on course for another orderly and successful Hajj operation.
