The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has completed the medical screening and immunisation of 1,253 intending pilgrims as part of preparations for this year’s Hajj exercise.
In a statement signed by the public relations officer of the board, Sulaiman Dederi, the exercise, conducted at the Hajj Camp Clinic, involved pilgrims drawn from 20 local government areas of the state. It is aimed at ensuring that all intending pilgrims are medically fit and properly immunised in line with national and international health guidelines governing Hajj operations.
Leader of the medical team, Aminu Da’u, confirmed the successful completion of the screening for the first batch of pilgrims. He said the exercise was critical to safeguarding the health and wellbeing of pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage.
Da’u explained that the screening and immunization were being carried out in phases to accommodate all registered intending pilgrims across the state. He assured that qualified healthcare professionals were handling the process with diligence and professionalism.
The board reaffirmed its commitment to a smooth and hitch-free Hajj operation, with emphasis on the health, safety and welfare of pilgrims.
The medical screening and immunisation will continue for the remaining pilgrims according to schedule
