Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi, has awarded 27 Hajj seats to Islamic preachers ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise, as part of efforts to strengthen spiritual guidance and ensure a qualitative pilgrimage for intending pilgrims from the state.
The allocation, which covers one preacher from each of Jigawa State’s 27 local government areas, is aimed at enhancing religious enlightenment and proper guidance for pilgrims before and during the Hajj rites.
The initiative reflects the governor’s commitment to the spiritual wellbeing of the people and supports the vision of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board under the leadership of its Director General, Ahmad Umar Labbo.
Speaking on the development, Labbo commended the governor for his consistent support to the board, noting that such interventions have been instrumental in promoting efficient Hajj operations in the state. He said the selected preachers would serve as mentors, educating and guiding pilgrims to ensure a spiritually fulfilling and acceptable Hajj.
The gesture is expected to further boost Jigawa State’s reputation as one of the leading states in Hajj management across the country.
