The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has intensified preparations for the 2026 Hajj with the inauguration of key committees and the commencement of vaccination for intending pilgrims.

The committees, approved by Governor Nasir Idris, are tasked with ensuring smooth coordination and the welfare of pilgrims throughout the exercise.

Executive Chairman of the agency, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro, said the airlift would begin on May 3 from the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport.

“We have put all necessary arrangements in place for a hitch-free operation,” Yaro said, adding that vaccination and medical screening were ongoing to meet international requirements.

The exercise is being supervised by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.

Amirul Hajj, Alhaji Ja’afar Ahmad Jega, expressed optimism about the preparations, saying, “Early planning and vaccination will ensure the safety and comfort of our pilgrims,” while urging committee members to discharge their duties with diligence.
