The Niger State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board has intensified its data-capturing exercise for intending pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj, as it moves to meet the February 8, 2026, deadline set by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
In a statement issued by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Jibrin Usman Kodo, the Executive Secretary of the board, Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, said the board’s ICT unit has been working round the clock to ensure that all intending pilgrims who have completed their payments are properly captured within the stipulated timeframe.
He explained that the accelerated exercise reflects the board’s commitment to complying with NAHCON’s directives on timely documentation and effective coordination of pilgrims.
Aliyu commended the ICT, accounts, passport and operations departments for their dedication, noting that their efforts are crucial to achieving a smooth and successful 2026 Hajj operation.
He also urged intending pilgrims who are yet to submit their e-passports to do so immediately to avoid missing out on the process.
The board reaffirmed its determination to deliver a transparent, efficient and well-organised Hajj exercise in 2026, as preparations continue across the state.
