The Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (PSMPWB) has commenced the distribution of Zamzam water to pilgrims who participated in the 2026 Hajj exercise and announced the start of deposits for the 2027 pilgrimage.

The board’s Executive Secretary, Alhaji Daiyabu Dauda, represented by the Director of Administration, Hajiya Aishatu Ibrahim Sale, said each Plateau pilgrim would receive five litres of Zamzam water as earlier promised during the Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

Sale, alongside the Head of Hajj Operations, Alhaji Isa Hashimu, and other officials, flagged off the distribution exercise at the board’s premises.

Dauda also confirmed the successful completion of the return airlift of all Plateau pilgrims from Saudi Arabia, with the final batch arriving in Nigeria on June 12.

He thanked Governor Caleb Mutfwang for supporting the 2026 Hajj operations, including the provision of Ihram materials and a ₦100,000 donation to each pilgrim.

He also commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), the Amirul Hajj, Ahmed Idris Maje, board officials and staff for their contributions to the exercise.

Meanwhile, the board said intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj are required to make an initial deposit of ₦5 million and above pending the announcement of the final fare by NAHCON. It urged prospective pilgrims to begin payments early to facilitate planning for the exercise.
