Birth in Madina: Nigerians React as Pregnant Pilgrim Delivers During Hajj

by admin

Mixed reactions have trailed the news of a Nigerian pilgrim who gave birth in Madina during the ongoing 2025 Hajj exercise, sparking questions over how a heavily pregnant woman was cleared to embark on the spiritual journey.

Social media users expressed shock and joy, with many congratulating the new mother while questioning the effectiveness of Nigeria’s medical screening and travel protocols for intending pilgrims.

“In Nigeria, anything is possible—the whole pregnant woman. How can she perform Hajj being nine months pregnant? Anyway, congratulations to her,” Facebook user Aminu Abdullahi posted.

Another user, Hassan Ubali, queried, “How did she beat the protocols, including medical tests, to arrive in Madina with pregnancy?”

QD Olusunkanmi wonders, “How would she perform Hajj now that she has given birth? He said her journey is just an excursion because it’s a deliberate action and not a mistake. Those who go against going to the Hajj while pregnant know what they are doing. Hajj is more than travelling to the holy Land and is one of the pillars of Islam.

Congratulations to the mother and the entire family. May the arrival of the baby bring unending joy to the family”

Mahmud Goma Dahiru said “If with all the pregnancy test and check before departure, a 9-month pregnant woman still scaled through to Saudi Arabia to give birth, then is either those doing the test are not professional, or either there a serious collaboration and this is seriously underscoring the Nigerian process in doing things properly.

Well, I congratulate her.”

Ibrahim Yahaya insist that “It’s the negligence of the security, medical team and the Hajj officials

Usman Shehu echoed similar sentiments, saying, “This indicates that nothing is currently working in Nigeria! Anyway, congrats!”

While many have extended prayers to the mother and her newborn, the incident has intensified scrutiny of the systems meant to ensure only medically fit pilgrims are allowed to travel.
