Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has received the 2025 Hajj report from the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at a ceremony held in Government House, Jos.
The report was presented by the Amirul Hajj and Emir of Wase, Dr. Muhammad Sambo Haruna, who praised the governor for sponsoring over 500 Muslims out of 1,019 pilgrims and for providing improved welfare during the exercise.
Governor Mutfwang expressed appreciation to the Amirul Hajj and his team for their dedication, assuring continued government support to the board.
Dr. Haruna highlighted acts of honesty by Plateau pilgrims, including a female pilgrim who returned $5,000 to a Tajik pilgrim and another who returned an iPhone to an Iranian, saying such gestures boosted the state’s reputation internationally.
He also lauded the governor for allocating a permanent office complex to the board and for his sanitation policies, which earned Plateau pilgrims awards for hygiene and discipline.
The event featured prayers for the governor’s leadership and the formal presentation of the Hajj report.
