The Saudi Arabian authorities have banned pilgrims from carrying trolley bags and other additional luggage during movement to Mina as part of measures to ensure smooth operations during the Hajj.
In a circular issued by the Office of Pilgrims Affairs Pakistan in Makkah on May 6, Deputy Coordinator Operations, Sadaqat Ali Awan, directed all officials known as Nazimeen to ensure that each pilgrim carries only one bag during the Mina move. The directive stated that hand-carry bags, trolley bags and other extra luggage would not be allowed because of limited space at Mina camp facilities.
The circular warned that any violation of the directive could create operational difficulties and urged officials to immediately brief pilgrims and ensure strict compliance. It added that cooperation from all stakeholders would help maintain orderly movement operations during the pilgrimage.
