The Head of Medical Services for Kaduna State Pilgrims, Professor Bello Jamoh, has confirmed that no death has been recorded among Kaduna State pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise, as arrangements for the airlift of pilgrims back to Nigeria are progressing smoothly.
Speaking on the health status of the pilgrims, Prof. Jamoh disclosed that the most common ailments recorded were body pains resulting from the strenuous Hajj rituals, as well as cases of catarrh. He noted that these health challenges were promptly managed by the medical team.
According to him, only five to six cases required referral to Saudi health facilities for further medical attention. He added that currently, only one Kaduna State pilgrim remains hospitalized following a surgical procedure and is recovering rapidly.
Prof. Jamoh commended the Governor Uba Sani for his unwavering support and commitment to ensuring that all medical needs of the pilgrims were adequately catered for throughout the pilgrimage.
He also praised the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, as well as the agency’s management team, for their prompt response to the needs and requests of the medical team, which greatly contributed to the success of the medical operations during the Hajj.
Furthermore, Prof. Jamoh expressed his appreciation to members of the medical team for their dedication, professionalism, and teamwork, describing their collective effort as instrumental to the successful healthcare services provided to Kaduna State pilgrims.
