The South African Hajj and Umrah Council (SAHUC) has officially announced that accredited Hajj pilgrims for the 1446AH/2025 season will be receiving refunds following an overpayment in Masha’ir services.
In a press release issued yesterday, SAHUC confirmed that the final charges released by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for the five days of Hajj and Tannazul services were lower than the preliminary estimates provided in November 2024. As a result, pilgrims are entitled to cash refunds, depending on the service packages they selected.
For pilgrims who utilized TWF & Khidmatul Awaam pilgrim services, the refund amounts to R676.74. Those departing via Taif after Hajj will receive R615.16. Meanwhile, pilgrims with Yusra Tours packages are entitled to a refund of R1,112.53.
SAHUC emphasized that all Hajj operators have a contractual record of package rates and pricing and will be contacting pilgrims directly to process the cash refunds. The council urged that all refunds must be completed by the end of August 2025.
The council expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for facilitating the refund and thanked the Hajj operators for their cooperation in ensuring smooth processing.
SAHUC also extended its well wishes to all pilgrims, praying for a safe journey and acceptance of their Hajj.
For further information, pilgrims can contact SAHUC through their official communication channels.
