Hajj 2025: Gov. Idris Donates SR200 Riyals to Each Pilgrim, Reaffirms Commitment to Welfare

Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris, has pledged to sustain strong welfare support for pilgrims and improve future Hajj operations, promising that the 2026 exercise would mark a new milestone in the state’s Hajj history.

 

Addressing Kebbi pilgrims on the plains of Arafat, Dr. Idris called on them to offer prayers for President Bola Tinubu, Nigeria, and Kebbi State—particularly for divine help in resolving national security challenges. He described the Day of Arafat as a sacred time to seek both personal and national healing.

 

Promising a more organized and impactful Hajj in 2026, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to delivering on campaign promises and driving development across the state.

 

Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruk Enabo, praised the governor’s unwavering support, highlighting several financial donations made to pilgrims by prominent individuals, including:

 

Dr. Nasir Idris: 200 Riyals per pilgrim

Governor’s spouses, Zainab Nasare and Nafisa: 50 Riyals each

Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Atiku Bagudu: 100 Riyals per pilgrim

Kebbi House Speaker: 100 Riyals for pilgrims from Zuru Emirate

SSG Yakubu Bala Tafida: 100 Riyals for pilgrims from Shanga, Yauri, and Ngaski

Others: Various contributions from state officials and politicians

 

Additionally, Chief of Staff Attahiru Maccido donated \$2,000 to pilgrims from Birnin Kebbi.

 

Emir of Argungu and 2025 Amirul Hajj, Alhaji Samaila Mera, lauded the governor for sponsoring Hadaya rams for all pilgrims and urged worshippers to make the most of Arafat’s spiritual significance.

 

The Emir also encouraged prayers for the governor, his family, and Nigeria.
